'I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.'

The first look at The White Lotus season three introduces a star-studded cast, including Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola.

The first trailer for the hotly anticipated show starts off with a cinematic shot of a pool at a new White Lotus resort, before showing Jason, Arnold Schwarzenegger's son, Sarah and Sam walking together.

'What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand,' a female voice narrates.

Three vacationers are then seen relaxing on pool loungers, before the clip cuts to a scene of two boxers fighting it out.

There is also a brief look at Rothwell, as she arrives at the resort wearing a floral dress.

The first two series were shot at similarly luxurious Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Sicily.

The first season - set in a Hawaii White Lotus resort - spanned six episodes, while the second - set in a Sicily White Lotus - got a seven-episode order.

And the third series will treat fans to eight episodes.

While the cast and locale is different for each season, the premise remains the same, with the show following the affluent guests of the luxury resort and the employees who take care of them during their stay.

Each season has featured a death - teased in the opening moments of the first episode - before going back a week to follow the build-up to the big twist.

The first season saw Murray Bartlett's Armond accidentally killed by Shane Patton (Jake Lacy) in the finale when he ran into a knife that Shane was holding.

The second season brought back Jennifer Coolidge as the wealthy and eccentric Tanya McQuoid, who realised in the finale that her husband Greg (Jon Gries) may have hired hitmen to murder her to acquire her vast fortune.

Though she ultimately got the best of the hitmen and killed them, Tanya later slipped and hit her head on the dinghy in a freak accident that killed her.

Fan favourite Jennifer previously revealed that she'd like her on-screen husband Greg to return for the third season to meet his end.

Seasons one and two or The White Lotus are available to stream on NOW.
