Curly hair has a special way of keeping you humble. One day I'll wake up with glossy, bouncy corkscrews that look as if I've spent hours in a hairdresser's chair. The next, I'm faced with a tangled, frizzy mess that no amount of finger-coiling can fix.

I've spent years trying to crack the code: why sometimes, with little fuss, my hair looks great, and why on other days, despite hours of effort, it ends up flat, knotty or lank.

If you've got waves or curls, you'll know what I mean. New products promise the world, work brilliantly for a week, then a few washes later, your hair feels gooey, sticky, heavy or otherwise grim. I've rotated through countless high-end formulas that claim to define, smooth and hydrate, only to end up binning half-empty bottles.

So, honestly, I didn't expect much when I picked up Garnier's new curl-specific line. With the four-product bundle priced at £35.96 (or between £7.99 and £9.99 individually), I assumed it wouldn't stand up to the fancy potions currently occupying my bathroom shelf.

I struggle with my dry curls, but Garnier's new range has helped stabilise my routine.

Hands up: I was wrong. After a few washes, my curls looked noticeably healthier - softer to the touch, more defined, and far less prone to that dreaded halo of frizz. The four-step routine massively streamlined hair-washing day, too. I didn't need to layer on endless oils or finishing products to make things look presentable; a straightforward wash, condition and style was enough to get a result I was happy to leave the house with.

But the part I'm most impressed with? The results last. I'm used to my hair seemingly becoming 'immune' to a product after a while, as if it simply stops responding. But I've been using this range - particularly the Method for Curls Mask - for a month now, and it's still delivering consistently better curls than I've had in a long time.

I'm sure most curly girls will understand the joy of an affordable, hard-working product. Textured hair shouldn't come with a luxury price tag - even though so many 'curl' ranges are noticeably pricier than their straight-hair counterparts. So below, I've broken down each product in the line and how I'd recommend using it, so you can select exactly what your routine is missing.

I'm not saying I never have a bad hair day - I do, after all, have a full mop of tight ringlets. But when a budget-friendly range can deliver this level of consistency, it makes it very hard to justify going back to the expensive stuff.

Garnier Method for Curls Bundle

  • Garnier Method For Curls Pre-Shampoo: Created with shea fatty acids and hyaluronic acid formula to lock in moisture. It's sulphate and silicone free, perfect for dry curls. Apply and leave on for five-minutes pre-shampooing for a quick hydration boost.
  • Garnier Method for Curls Shampoo: Once again sulphate-free, which means it cleanses curls gently and avoids breakage and cuticle damage (the source of most frizz). Apply and use as with normal shampoo.
  • Garnier Method for Curls Mask: This intensive, silicone-free treatment powered by a 13% hyaluronic moisture complex and shea fatty acids to deeply hydrate without weighing curls down. Apply generously after shampooing, leave on for five minutes, detangle locks with a wide-toothed brush, then rinse.
  • Garnier Method for Curls Shape Refresh Spray: This lightweight, silicone-free mist powered by a 5% hyaluronic moisture complex and shea fatty acids rehydrates curls between washes. I spritz onto dry curls and scrunch to reduce frizz and refresh between washes.
