The Today show hosts were left scrambling after Olympian Mikaela Shiffrin started cursing live on-air.
The Team USA skier, 30, who took home the gold this week in the women's slalom, appeared on the show live from Milan, Italy, on Thursday to reflect on her big win.
But things turned slightly awkward when the athlete dropped multiple expletives into the interview - including an F-bomb.
The moment occurred while Shiffrin was discussing a 'spiritual' moment she had at the top of the mountain ahead of her winning run.
She explained that while she was waiting for it to start, the anticipation was really getting to her so she 'laid on the ground in the hospitality tent and tried to take a nap.'
But while she was resting, she explained that she started thinking about her late father, Jeff Shiffrin, who died 'suddenly' in 2020.
'It was just this moment of like, "I want to be able to have some communication with him and I can't have that,"' she said.
'But I thought, "What the heck, maybe it's okay if you talk to him even if you don't hear him respond in the normal way."'

'There's been, definitely, a spiritual journey I've been on the last years. I took a moment and I said...' she trailed off before she then said: 'Fk' which she followed up with, 'Oh st!'
She quickly covered her mouth with her hand before she added: 'Oh my God, I'm so sorry.'
Hosts Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin and Carson Daly appeared slightly flabbergasted as they all started talking at once and trying to make her feel better.
'That's okay,' Melvin said. 'We know what you meant. You're wearing gold, it's okay.'
Kotb started laughing as she joked to the skier: 'We got you, we'll pay the fine. Don't worry about it.'
'That's so bad,' a clearly embarrassed Shiffrin added of her flub.
'While we're on the topic of swearing like a sailor, let's talk about the celebration [after your win],' Daly then said, quickly changing the conversation to something more positive.
Shiffrin's curses have now been bleeped out in a clip of the moment that has been uploaded on the Today show's website, but it appears that they were heard across the nation when the original broadcasting aired.

Shiffrin showed her undoubted quality by finishing over a second quicker than Switzerland's world champion Camille Rast.
According to the FCC Broadcasting rules, it is a violation of federal law to air 'obscene, indecent or profane language.'
Shiffrin went on to explain that she celebrated by having some espresso martinis after not drinking for two years.
'Everyone kept bringing them to me - which may be some of the reason for the swearing, so sorry again - but they just kept handing them to me,' she said.
'They're like, "Pace yourself. Here's another but pace yourself."'
'If it was possible to love you even more than we already did,' Kotb concluded.
Shiffrin, considered by many to be the greatest Alpine skier of all time, had failed to win an Olympic medal since a gold and silver in Pyeongchang in 2018.
But Shiffrin showed her undoubted quality by finishing over a second quicker than Switzerland's world champion Camille Rast to return to the top step of the podium this week. Anna Swenn Larsson of Sweden took bronze.
