In discussing their experience in prison, Todd opened up about how he allegedly "jumped on" College Admissions Scandal ringer leader Rick Singer in prison because "he was talking smack."
Todd Chrisley is getting candid about what he endured during his time in prison.
On Tuesday, July 1, the former Chrisley Knows Best star made a joint appearance with wife Julie Chrisley on their daughter Savannah Chrisley's Unlocked podcast, where they opened up about their differing experiences behind bars, including how "lots of arguments" occurred.
"Daddy almost got sent to [a different] county one time," Savannah, 27, recalled, as Todd, 57, responded, "What? When I jumped on that guy? About you?"
Todd was referring to how he allegedly butted heads with infamous College Admissions Scandal mastermind William "Rick" Singer, who was also an inmate at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida.
"He was talking smack, saying that, you know, he didn't wear a wire. He never told on anyone. The Feds set him up. This, that and the other," Todd alleged.
Singer, 64, orchestrated the 2019 college admissions scandal, which saw stars Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin serving time for their involvement. He was convicted in January 2023 and sentenced to three and a half years in prison, plus forfeiture of over $10 million. However, he was released from his Florida prison in August 2024 into a halfway house in Los Angeles, per ABC News and The Wall Street Journal.
"He came and asked me, he said, Have you started your book? And I said, 'No.' He said, 'I've started working on mine.' And I said, 'Well, I hope that the first chapter introduces you as the biggest snitch in America,'" Todd alleged. "I told him about Felicity and Bill and Lori and them, and I said, 'I don't want to ever have another conversation with you.' And so, he turned around and walked out."
Todd alleged that "months later, he was talking s--- about Savannah, 'cause that's when shit already started pulling to Barbara Walters and exposing everything in the BOP. So he started talking smack. And so I just walked up to him and I said, 'I'm gonna say this one more time. I'm already in prison,'" he continued. "I said, 'I will rip your head off and shit down your neck if you talk about my child again.'"
The reality star added, "And I meant what I said, and you know I would have done that. I was like, 'I don't need you to be afraid of me. Just be aware that if my daughter's name comes out of your mouth again, I will rip your head off and s--- down your neck.'"
After that, Todd said he "never had another problem with him."
"But that's really the only issue that I had," Todd concluded.
Todd was sent to Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida, while Julie, 52, went to Federal Medical Center Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky.
"Even though this pardon has happened, I still was convicted of something that I did not do," Todd said during a press conference later that week. "It could be you, it could be you, it could be any of you, and somewhere in this room, someone has had a family member that has been affected by the system. So I understand the shame that's around it,but I refuse to feed into that, because shame is like a cancer that just spreads, and I have no shame."
The Chrisley family is currently filming an untitled docuseries for Lifetime, which is slated to air later this year.
