Scandal fans were sent into a frenzy by a new snap posted by Tony Goldwyn, who starred on the series as US President Fitzgerald.

The 65-year-old actor showed off his still musclebound physique in a clinging white t-shirt splashed with the slogan: 'Elect Young People.'

He was promoting a podcast interview he had conducted about politics with his daughter Anna, 35, one of the two children he shares with his wife Jane Musky.

But viewers' attention was instantly drawn to the The Last Samurai actor's exquisitely preserved features and jaw-dropping figure.

They sprang into the comments to breathlessly leave hearts and fire emojis, calling him 'daddy' and gushing that he was 'Hot & helpful!'

Goldwyn was showered with starry-eyed praise like: 'God he's so yummy,' 'So handsome,' 'shawty fine' and 'He aged so good.'

'You're so fine no disrespect to your wife,' one wrote to Goldwyn, who has been married to Musky, a production designer, since 1987.

Tony Goldwyn is the grandson of the pioneering Old Hollywood film executive Samuel Goldwyn, whose surname is the G in MGM.

In the 1990s, his career included being the voice of Disney's Tarzan and acting in Ghost in a cast including Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

Among the selections from his filmography are The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise and the Divergent movies adapted from the popular young adult novels.

He had a supporting part in the 2021 biopic King Richard, for which Will Smith won the best actor Oscar after slapping Chris Rock onstage.

Scandal burnished Goldwyn's sex symbol image, with his character President 'Fitz' indulging in a steamy affair with his fixer Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington.

Last year he featured as a white supremacist in the latest best picture Oscar winner One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Teyana Taylor.

Fans have been able to catch him as a district attorney called Nicholas Baxter on Law & Order since 2024, and he has also featured in the same role on the wildly popular spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit led by Mariska Hargitay.

Goldwyn has also enjoyed a long and storied career as a director, beginning with the 1999 drama A Walk on the Moon starring Viggo Mortensen and Diane Lane.

He also helmed the 2001 comedy Someone Like You featuring Ashley Judd and Hugh Jackman, as well as episodes of shows including Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, The L Word, Law & Order, Dexter, Justified, Damages and Dirty Sexy Money.

A decade ago, at the height of his Scandal fame, fans were already wondering about how he had managed to look so young in his 50s.

'I don't do anything artificial. I don't do Botox or surgery,' Goldwyn insisted during an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.
