The unrelenting divorce drama between global superstars Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban took a sad turn as their eldest daughter appeared to briefly unfollow her dad on Instagram this week.

Now, this may not seem like a seismic event to anyone with an upright body posture, but in the hunched-over Gen Z world of social media, it's the equivalent of penning 'Daddy Dearest.'

Perhaps even Sunday Rose, 17, didn't realize that digitally ditching her famous father would set off such a chain-reaction - especially since she re-followed him within hours - but every aspect their lives are scrutinized to the micron; any fracture dismissed as a whisper in a typical family is interpreted as a cataclysmic eruption.

Cowboy Keith's fans might cry foul and claim this is proof of Nicole using their children (Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, 15) for emotional blackmail, poisoning their hearts and minds against him, but look at it from the girls' perspective: they live with their mom, who is sad yet soldiering on and - by most reported accounts - didn't want the marriage to end.

I've been through a divorce and it absolutely sucks. But sometimes that's where life takes you and you must do your best to move forward without getting bogged down in bitterness at the person you chose to bring kids into the world with.

I am fortunate enough that the person I collaborated with on the most important work of our lives has kept his promise to maintain a friendship and go through birthdays, dance recitals and college visits together as a family.

Fans in Cowboy Keith's corner might cry foul and claim this is proof of Nicole using their children.

I encourage anyone who has split to do the same because the only people that benefit from a state of war and animosity are divorce lawyers. The ones hurt by the emotional shrapnel are your kids.

But look at perma-tan Keith with his Meg Ryan haircut: he's been romantically linked to multiple country music starlets, including Karley Scott Collins, 26, even though Collins denies it.

Gossip maven Rob Shuter is reporting, via a 'family friend', that Urban's rift with his girls deepened when he tried to introduce them to his alleged baby-faced side piece.

If true, his rush to acquaint his new toddler to this teens feels just a touch insensitive. In fact, it screams, 'Hey, I know your mom's still a basket case-in-mourning, but I'm in love and isn't my new tartlet hot?!'

Word is that Urban is even profiting off the split by writing a yacht rock-themed 'breakup album.'

'The origins of this kind of music was, in certain ways,a reaction and an antidote to the stresses of the times,' he wrote.

Hey Keith, why not break up with your midlife crisis?

It's no wonder his daughter's fatherly enthusiasm might have cooled.

Insiders told Daily Mail, '[The girls] are completely team Nicole and, right now, Keith is the bad guy. He is the cause of every problem in their minds, and it's harrowing for him. He's really distraught about it.'

I don't doubt the whole thing is eating him alive; people are often consumed by the effects of their bad choices. And I don't assume that Nicole is bad-mouthing her ex.

A worldly 17-year-old is capable of drawing her own conclusions and feeling her own pain. The insider reiterated that to Daily Mail: 'I don't even think this is Nicole painting a narrative; this is the girls coming to this conclusion on their own.'

And I have some unsolicited advice for any young country starlets hoping to lasso with aging equine: if you're a part of this thing, get out now. The guy is old enough to have his AARP card. By the time you get baby fever, kids with Keith will mean you'll be changing two sets of diapers.
