Feel like you've been living under a soggy flannel? What with slate grey skies and relentless rain since New Year's, frankly it's hard to believe we're just weeks away from the official start of spring, and yet here we are - winter stuck on repeat.
We need cheering up, we need colour in our lives - and we need both fast. Which is where this season's fabulous fashion mood-lifter can perform miracles... Pink coats! This dopamine dressing is what your wardrobe and mine are craving.
Coats in every rosy hue can be found up and down the High Street. From Marks & Spencer and Next to New Look, Boden and Karen Millen, pink coats are having a moment. Take your pick from Barbie neon to frosty baby or dusty pink - you'll find the shade of the season ranges from pale and subtle to bold and bright, and everything in between.
Looking 'Pretty in Pink' is a life mantra that any self-respecting woman growing up in the 1980s, like me, will recognise. In fact, since 1985, when I was rocking an oversized bright pink faux fur teddy coat most of the year, I've longed for another pink coat that could live up to its cosy and cool vibes.
So, now I'm in my 50s, I'm determined to find my pinky perfect match, as the Daily Mail's brilliant fashion team point me in the direction of the very best options on the High Street...

I've always been a fan of the double-breasted coat, and the drop shoulder gives this one a slouchy, relaxed feel. It's a very cosy and comfortable fit. The softer pink shade is not too in-your-face - perfect if you're not totally sold on the shade.

Consider a subtle, almost oatmeal, pale pink as your versatile gateway shade. This wool-blend midi, in a smart, tailored design, ticks all the boxes for office/interview-appropriate wear thanks to the structured shoulders and smart collar. The cut and colour are perfect for spring and summer, and it creates a hint of a waist even over a shapeless outfit. Bravo KM!

Although this neat number doesn't feel half as luxe as some of the other coats on the High Street right now, it's fantastic value for money (reduced from £69.99) and does look great. I'd wear it simply for the glorious hit of dopamine-friendly colour. Pop it on and spread the positive vibes.

Looks like something Meghan Markle would love. I can see her now, popping out for her artisan muffins in downtown Montecito rocking this number. If this is your fashion groove, you need to wear it buttoned up as it has silver popper fastenings. It does feel gorgeous, mind.

The dark, dusty colour is a huge winner for me. I love it. This coat comes with a bow-detail belt (which I took off) and has great trench-style detailing. In fact, the attention to detail all over is excellent. Satin buttons add to the luxury; the coat feels weighty with glorious lining. Absolutely gorgeous. I want to stroke it all day long.

It's important to be able to move in a coat, and this punchy pink 1960s-swing style ticks that easy-to-wear box, with no sense of being constricting. It's a fantastic length, sitting just on the knee. I'd wear this going into summer as it's not too heavy. The mohair blend is lovely and it has great button details. Everything about this is easy - including the price.

I love this cropped design as I don't feel like I'm drowning in it - which is a no-no for any coat in my books. This has fabulous buttons and lovely sleeve details. If anything it's a little bit too girlie for me, but it’s still very wearable and affordable.

I have so many questions with this one. Is the combination of colour and statement sleeve too much? Am I too old for this? Would I get more wear out of it as a jacket rather than a coat? I feel like a ball of candy floss, but it does look great. I’m sold!
