Shocking footage has captured the moment a pickup truck smashed into an Oregon family's home after soaring 100 feet through the air.

Jacob Haskins, 33, struck a dirt mound with his Ford while speeding through the outskirts of Portland just before 3am on February 13, according to police.

Haskins and his passenger were launched about 100 feet, and cleared a three-foot brick wall before crashing into the house in Tigard.

The footage shows the truck's high speed as it flew through the air, but unlike the well-known orange 1969 Dodge Charger R/T from the popular television show The Dukes of Hazzard, it did not stick the landing and nightmarishly crashed instead.

Officers arrived and discovered the driver, who was initially unconscious, and his passenger were trapped but luckily escaped the terrifying accident with only minor injuries.

They were taken to the hospital, and Haskins was charged with reckless driving and reckless endangering.

David Brudnok told Fox 12 that he was sleeping inside the home with his wife and three children when he was awakened by 'the loudest boom I've ever heard in my life.'

Brudnok mistook the slamming of the truck for an intruder and gathered his family as he called the police.

Fortunately, no one inside the home was hurt, but the impact completely destroyed a bathroom as well as the front and garage doors of the home.

The family is staying elsewhere while their property is being restored.

Despite the destruction to his residence, Brudnok was not bitter and wanted everyone involved to recover.

'I know that type of stuff is deadly at the rate that they hit the house. I just hope everybody is okay and that they heal okay,' he told Fox 12.
'I'm going to pray to God and ask why, and then we'll go from there.'

Commenters online had varied reactions to the crash. Some used the incident as a warning to practice safe driving, while others were outraged and called for the driver to be punished.

'This is a great reminder of the importance of safe driving,' wrote one user. 'It's a miracle that the family was not hurt. Let's all be more careful on the road.
'And to the driver, please be more responsible and think of the consequences of your actions. No reset in life!'

Despite Brudnok's home being wrecked he hopes that everyone involved has a speedy recovery. Haskins was charged with reckless driving and recklessly endangering

A dramatic rollover crash was also captured on video on the interstate in Utah on the same day when a Toyota Tacoma struck a PT Cruiser.

A third vehicle appeared to have attempted to change lanes without enough room, setting off a chain of events that led to the crash, Fox 13 reported.

The Utah Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 7.40am near 600 North on southbound I-15.

The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the PT Cruiser was not injured.
