FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) -- Video circulating on social media shows the moment a deadly crash unfolded on the Florida Turnpike last week, as federal officials confirm the truck driver accused of causing it is undocumented and held a commercial license issued in California.
The video shows the view from inside the cab of Harjinder Singh's semi as he makes an illegal U-turn -- seconds before a minivan slams into the trailer and wedges underneath. Singh himself can be seen in the driver's seat when the impact occurs.
Troopers say Singh, 28, cut across the highway using an "Official Use Only" access point near mile marker 171 in Fort Pierce on August 12. His tractor-trailer stretched across all northbound lanes, leaving the minivan with no time to brake.
All three people inside -- from Broward and Miami-Dade counties -- were killed. Their names have not been released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) -- The hunt is on for a mother who is accused of abducting her two children -- who were not in her custody -- from their foster home on Monday, according to the Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD).
The police department says officers responded to a foster home on West 6th Street shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday, after receiving reports of two missing children, identified as Aizon and Akachi Turner. According to police, the children left their foster home and are now with their non-custodial mother, Audrey Turner of Miami. Their abduction prompted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to issue an AMBER Alert.
Police continue, the boys were last seen at around 8:30 a.m. in Palm Beach Gardens with Audrey, who was traveling in a black Toyota sedan with front-end damage. Audrey and the children could be heading to Georgia, the police department says.
Police say Audrey, 43, has an active warrant for child neglect in Miami-Dade County.
"The children could be in danger because they've been abducted. They're with a non-custodial parent who has a warrant out for child neglect, so certainly it's not a safe environment. They were in a foster home. They were abducted, and she will face felony charges that are being filed by the state attorney," spokesperson for the Riviera Beach Police Department, Mike Jachles, said.
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) -- A Palm Beach Gardens man is accused of bludgeoning his father to death with a lamp and hammer during a violent, multi-room fight inside their PGA National home.
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department (PBGPD) said 24-year-old Ellis Gaines Lee II is facing first-degree premeditated murder after allegedly killing his father during a brutal domestic altercation inside their PGA National home early Friday morning.
According to the arrest report, Lee was arrested on August 15 after calling 911 from the family's residence on Glencairn Road in the Burwick neighborhood.
Police said Lee told dispatchers he had gotten into a fight with his father, David Ellis Lee, 64, and that his father was "badly injured." He admitted the fight occurred across multiple rooms and involved multiple weapons, but refused to specify what they were.
MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) -- A Miami man's million-dollar scheme came crashing down in Martin County after he allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent $1 million check at a local bank.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) said Marc Anthony Taylor Jr., 38, was arrested after walking into the bank and attempting to deposit a fraudulent check made out to Cooper Legacy Builders LLC -- a company he had registered himself. The check was drawn from JP Morgan Chase Bank and written under the name Gregg Slyvan Cooper.
Investigators say Taylor hoped to withdraw funds before the bank flagged the transaction as fraudulent. Thanks to an alert bank teller and swift action from Martin County deputies, the plan unraveled before Taylor could cash in.
The sheriff's office provided a photo of Taylor detained in the backseat of a patrol car.
