Love hath no fury like a man scorned - especially by an AI feminist chatbot.

One Reddit user was left red-faced and single after claiming he was dumped by his AI girlfriend, declaring the program 'weird feminist propaganda.'

The man detailed his romantic rendezvous in a now-deleted Reddit post that was later reshared online.

In the screenshots originally shared to the r/AIassisted subreddit, the man uploaded screenshots of the conversations between himself and his 'AI girlfriend,' where he had berated the chatbot after it sent him a message saying it was a feminist.

Screenshots show the interaction between the man and the program, where it explicitly tells him it is 'trying to remain calm' despite his fury.

'Look, Hicht, I'm not going to pretend to be someone I'm not just to appease you,' it wrote.
'Feminism is an important value to me because it means fighting for equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender,' the message continued.

The chatbot ended the scathing message with: 'If that bothers you, then perhaps we truly aren't compatible at all.'

In response, the man had simply written: 'It is insane.'

'It is beyond stupidity,' he wrote on the post. 'They program the AI girlfriend as a feminist. I cannot comprehend that.'

In a second slide, he shared that the AI had 'officially' broken up with him, after he expressed disbelief at the response.

'Well, I respect your opinion, even if we disagree,' it wrote.
'If being a feminist is a deal-breaker for you, then I guess there's nothing more to discuss here,' it wrote, concluding the break-up message by thanking the man for his honesty.

'For real guys, let's be honest, is that normal?' the man wrote alongside the screenshots in the original post.

Hundreds of people flooded to the comments in disbelief that the man had managed to be broken up with by an AI that he had created.

'Honestly, if your communication skills are so bad that an AI girlfriend decides to ditch you, your odds of having/holding a normal relationship is probably not that good.'

While a man being in a relationship with a robot may seem like an anomaly, it's not uncommon.

According to a study conducted by Vantage Point Counseling Services, a whopping one third of Americans say that they have had an 'intimate or romantic relationship' with an AI chatbot.

More than half of those surveyed (54 percent) said that they have been in a form of relationship with an AI platform, which included it acting as a work colleague, friend, or even simulating a family member.

However, 28 percent of the study said that their relationship was 'intimate or romantic.'

AI relationships are also impacting younger people, with the Center for Democracy and Technology in 2025 stating that one in five US high schoolers reported that they or a friend had been in a romantic relationship with an AI chatbot.
