A scandal-hit Republican lawmaker allegedly blew through thousands of dollars in campaign money to charter private jets, stay at luxury resorts and make trips to casinos.
Florida Republican Representative Cory Mills, 45, racked up bills nearing $80,000 between February 2023 and December 2024, according to campaign records.
A review of his political finance records by The Washington Examiner uncovered the lavishly spending.
According to the records, his campaign recorded a payment of $5,711 to The Fairmont Hotel in Puerto Rico in May of 2024.
The five-star resort is located on the Isla Verde Beach, and comes complete with an on-site casino, a number of swimming pools, bars and a luxury spa.
It remains unclear why Mills was in Puerto Rico at the time; the Daily Mail has asked his office for clarification.
Back in his home state, he used campaign cash at the Fountainbleau Hotel in Miami Beach, the Hard Rock Hotel in Daytona Beach, the Ben Hotel in West Palm Beach, the Breakers Hotel in Boynton Beach, and the Resort at Longboat Key.
He also spent $1,700 at The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, across two trips in October and November of 2024.
A review of his campaign finance records by The Washington Examiner uncovered that Mills spent lavishly on fine dining, luxury hotels and used private jets.
Mills also paid out in just shy of $30,000 to Million Air Austin, Airgate Aviation, and Luxury Aircraft LLC, who all specialize in chartering private aircrafts.
A further $7,000 was used on limousine services, the campaign finance records showed. The Daily Mail has contacted Mills for comment on the spending.
It is the latest bombshell report to hit Mills after he was accused last week of allegedly engaging with sex workers during a trip to Afghanistan.
Amid the chaotic withdrawal of US forces in 2021, Florida Republican Representative Cory Mills and a group of unknown individuals traveled to Afghanistan as the Taliban were overtaking the country to extract Americans who were stranded.
The group wanted to rescue an American mother and her children who had been left inside Afghanistan after Joe Biden ordered a US military withdrawal.
While en route to the war-torn country for the 'sensitive' mission, Mills's group stopped in Tbilisi, Georgia. However, one night while staying in the capital, Mills was allegedly caught in a hotel hallway with sex workers, an insider told NOTUS.
After reportedly discovering Mills with the sex workers, the rest of his group was furious.
In light of the obvious security implications they decided to abandon him midway, leaving Mills to travel to Afghanistan by himself.
Mills has not issued a public statement on the scandal following NOTUS's report and has not denied it.
Mills is already facing a litany of sexual misconduct allegations and scandals.
Mills also paid out in excess of $30,000 to Million Air Austin, Airgate Aviation, and Luxury Aircraft LLC, who all specialize in chartering private aircrafts.
Mills has been embroiled in a slew of controversies this year, including allegations of domestic abuse; allegedly threatening to release revenge porn of an ex-girlfriend; stolen valor claims that he is undeserving of his Bronze Star award; and revelations that he was married in a mosque by a man linked to the 9/11 hijackers.
Mills, who is in the midst of a divorce of his wife, has also been romantically linked to Sarah Raviani, a Washington DC marketing manager.
As recently as last week, Raviani referred to Mills as her 'significant other' but the current status of their relationship is unclear.
A Florida judge last month issued a restraining order against him after his ex-girlfriend claimed Mills threatened to release nude images of her. Mills has previously denied any wrongdoing regarding the allegations.
Mills's fellow conservative colleagues, such as Representative Nancy Mace, have called for Republican leadership to strip the Florida lawmaker of his committee assignments due to the scandals.
Mace re-posted a screenshot on Wednesday of steamy text messages Mills allegedly sent to his 28-year-old girlfriend while still married.
'And you will be a good girl and do anything he wants or asks?' one of the alleged messages from Mills to his girlfriend in a group chat titled 'New Year's Fun' reads.
'He can have you as many times as he wants, anyway he wants, and finish anywhere he chooses, right, babe?' Mills continues in the exchange, referring to another man.
The House Ethics Committee, meanwhile, has opened an investigation into Mills over a variety of scandals, including campaign finance issues and allegations of sexual misconduct.
