A fan of former Spice Girl Mel C (real name Melanie Chisholm) was left surprised after discovering that the hitmaker's name was printed incorrectly on her new album Sweat.

Though Mel C's name is spelled correctly on the cover, the spine on the vinyl release bought by the Aussie-based fan says 'Melannine C' alongside the title.

Sharing his discovery on TikTok on Monday, Brad Bellman from Melbourne made light of the snafu, telling followers: 'Someone is going to get fired for this.'

It's not known how many units of Sweat carry the manufacturing error.

But Bellman said in his clip that a Mel C fan had told him about the embarrassing mix-up.

He also shared that he took delivery of multiple units, all of which had the same printing issue.

'My delivery of Mel C Sweat stuff came today,' Bellman said.

He continued: 'And a friend of mine asked me 'Did you get the Melannine version?'' and I'm like, 'What the f* does that mean?' and he told me to check the spine.'

Bellman included a close-up of the error in his video.

'Melannine... Hold on to it... it will be expensive in the future,' commented one person on the post.
Another fan added: 'Wait a minute, I'm pretty sure Sweat is her ninth studio album, right, so maybe it's intentional?'

A third fan added that the misprint of Mel's name was a mistake, which the star confirmed on a recent live stream.

They added: 'She's going to try to normalise it as some people are asking her to sign the records 'To Melanine'.'

Several others on the thread confirmed that their vinyl edition of Sweat carried the misprint.

TikTok user Brad Bellman shared the snafu in a video on Monday.

Sweat, which dropped on May 1, is the 52-year-old's first solo release since Melanie C in 2020.

Meanwhile, the Spice Girls are reportedly in talks for a hologram show to mark their 30th anniversary - after their reunion tour was axed.

Bandmates Mel B, Geri Horner, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham had been in talks for a series of concerts to celebrate three decades since the release of their debut single Wannabe.

However, it was reported last month that the group couldn't come to an agreement on a reunion.

But now, instead, they could be about to follow in the footsteps of the ABBA Voyage set-up, which was launched in 2022 and turned the band into digital avatars.

Victoria said on US-based SiriusXM radio this week: 'I think it would be a great idea.'

'The principle of it would be great. We were talking about it at dinner, but we'll see.'

The Spice Girls shot to fame in 1996 when their debut single Wannabe reached number one in 37 countries.

The girl group reached the top of the UK charts nine times and had two number one albums.

When Geri left the band, she launched a solo career and enjoyed four number one singles in the UK.
