H.S. LOCAL ROUNDUP: Blue Mountain and Schuylkill Haven's girls record shutouts

TAMAQUA -- Spencer Prestileo and Juan Moreno each scored second half goals for Pottsville and a Division I road win at Tamaqua.

Jayden Hossler added the Crimson Tide's first goal in the opening half. Tamaqua's Lusvin Lumas and Chase Behr each added goals.

Pottsville outnumbered Tamaqua in shots on goal., 19-15, and the Crimson Tide totaled seven corner kicks.

TAMAQUA -- Donnie Moyer scored a couple of second half goals for Blue Mountain in a Division I road win at Marian.

Moyer scored four goals total and two in the second half and Luke Grasso added another pair of goals for the 12-goal difference. Robert Bowitz, Vince DiSante, Dylan Knittle, Andrew Waschko, Hayden Freed, Brayden Lightcap all scored goals for the Eagles.

The Eagles swarmed the net and had 47 shots on goal as opposed to Marian's just two shots on goal all game.

The Blue Mountain Lady Eagles defeated North Schuylkill in three sets, 25-18, 25-17, and 25-14.

Leading Blue Mountain to victory was Jaedyn Bartholomew with 16 kills, 12 digs, and five aces. In the process, Bartholomew set school records for career kills and kills in a season. Piper Reinhart had seven kills, one block, and one ace. Alexa Marshall recorded eight digs, seven kills, and three aces.

No stats were submitted for North Schuylkill.

Nativity BVM defeated Williams Valley in three sets, 25-9, 25-18, and 25-18.

Addison Ricard led the Green Wave with 26 assists, five aces, two kills, and one dig. Finley McNamara recorded 11 kills, five aces, three digs, and one assist, while Janelle Ziegmont had nine kills and seven digs.

For Williams Valley, Hayley Fenlason had two kills and two blocks. Emilly Miller had 16 digs, two kills, one ace, and one service point. Emilly Reinoehl had seven assists, three digs, two kills, and one service point.

Blue Mountain defeated Shenandoah Valley 8-0 to finish the 2025 regular season perfect in league play at 12-0.

The Lady Eagles scored twice in the first half and six times in the second half en route to their victory. Ella Smith had two goals for Blue Mountain. Overall, the Lady Eagles had seven different goal scorers in the win.

Pine Grove and Pottsville played to a scoreless tie on Wednesday.

Both Pine Grove's Alyssa Moyer and Pottsville's Julie Stock had five saves in the game.

Minersville defeated Williams Valley 5-2 on Wednesday, their third victory of the season over the Vikings.

Minersville scored four first-half goals in the win, including a pair of goals from Sara McGrath. Williams Valley picked up goals from Marissa Miller and Quin Smeltz.

Schuylkill Haven cruised to a 5-0 victory over Tamaqua on Wednesday with a trio of first-half goals and a hat trick from Taylor Haag.

Mahanoy Area hosted Tri-Valley and Weatherly in a meet on Wednesday.

Mahanoy Area's boys defeated Tri-Valley 15-50 and Weatherly 22-36, while Weatherly's boys defeatd Tri-Valley 15-50.

The Golden Bears girls picked up victories over both Tri-Valley and Weatherly by 14-22 and 15-50 respectively, while Tri-Valley defeated Weatherly 15-50.

North Schuylkill hosted Shenandoah Valley, Marian, and Pine Grove in a quad meet on Wednesday.
