Tensions hit fever pitch in Tuesday's episode of EastEnders as Vicki Fowler was dragged into an explosive catfight with Zoe Slater.

The pair were embroiled in a dramatic clash that left Albert Square stunned, as the longtime rivals reignited their historic feud.

The episode was released on BBC iPlayer on Tuesday morning and saw Zoe (Michelle Ryan) and Vicki (Alice Haig) trading barbed insults, no doubt leaving some viewers questioning whether they'd gone back in time to the early 2000s.

Zoe told Vicki that her dad, Den Watts, loved Sharon and Dennis more than her, leading her to hit back that at least her mum didn't pass her off as her sister.

A furious Zoe then shoved Vicki, who tumbled to the ground, before threatening: 'You don't want to mess with me.'

Vicki quickly retaliated by shoving Zoe from behind, screaming: 'I didn't. But I do now,' before hitting her twice across the face.

With shocked residents watching on, Vicki shouted: 'That is for burying my dad under the Vic.'

Zack attempted to intervene by tearing Vicki away from Zoe, but only ended up injuring himself.

Anthony stepped in to help Zoe as she yelled at Vicki: 'You know your dad... he never really loved you.'

As she walked away, Vicki turned back and issued Zoe with a stark threat, saying: 'One day, when you least expect it, you're going to get what's coming to ya.'

Later, Anthony attempted to comfort Zoe, but after getting carried away, leaned in for a kiss.

She furiously recoiled and urged Anthony to stay away from her.

The episode then saw Zoe in another showdown with Sharon Watts, who had returned to the Square following some time away.

Zoe was quick to remind Sharon how her 'creep of a dad' Den coerced her into bed with him, before dropping a bombshell on her.

The episode was released on BBC iPlayer on Tuesday and saw Zoe and Vicki trading barbed insults, no doubt leaving some viewers questioning whether they'd gone back in time.

As Sharon ordered Zoe to leave Walford, she revealed she was only looking to earn enough money to find the son she'd given up for adoption 19 years ago.

'You wanna know who the father is?' she asked Sharon, who rebuffed any claims the child could be Den's.

Zoe then revealed: 'Not your dad's. Your husband's.'

'Twenty years ago, Dennis Rickman slept with me. That’s right, Sharon. Precious Dennis... he got me pregnant.'

Dennis died after a stabbing on New Year's Eve in 2005, and a flashback episode showed that Zoe gave birth to her son in 2006.

Sharon was left stunned by the news as the memory of her beloved late husband had now been tainted, ending the episode on a dramatic cliffhanger.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
