Married At First Sight bride Julia Vogl has finally broken her silence following her dramatic exit from the Channel Nine experiment - and she is not holding back.

In a candid, no-holds-barred interview with Daily Mail, the outspoken bride lifted the lid on what really happened behind closed doors during her ill-fated marriage to Grayson McIvor.

The reality star, 35, admitted watching their relationship play out on national television has been confronting - especially given what her TV husband said about her when cameras weren't in the room.

'It felt like baptism by fire,' Julia said of reliving the experience on screen.
'The hardest part was probably seeing the way Grayson spoke about me, to be honest.'

Julia explained that while she was aware their relationship had problems during filming, she had no idea how strongly Grayson felt until the show aired.

According to Julia, their dynamic behind the scenes was far more complicated than what viewers saw on television.

'I didn't realise he had such strong opinions about the way I was doing things and really just who I was,' she said.
'I knew there were problems - obviously that's why we left - but not to the degree that I saw in the voxies.'

Julia said the edit of their relationship left out major context, particularly a heated argument that left her questioning their future.

'There was a big argument that viewers didn't really see,' she explained.
'I was exhausted. I hadn't slept for three nights because Grayson was snoring and I suffer from insomnia. I was an emotional wreck.'

She claims the disagreement escalated quickly and left her worried about how they would handle conflict in a marriage.

'I felt like he was annoyed at me for being exhausted,' she said.
'It escalated into a pretty big argument in my eyes and I just thought - this is definitely not how I want to be in a marriage.'

Despite their issues, Julia insists she tried hard to make the relationship work.

'We were going on dates, spending time together, trying to connect emotionally. Other than jumping into bed and having sex, I don't know what more I could have done,' she said.

One of the most controversial moments of the season came during intimacy week, when Julia opted to deepen their emotional connection instead of becoming physical.

But she insists that decision was completely misrepresented.

'I wasn't ready for physical intimacy,' she said.
'I actually wanted to get to know him on a deeper level. That's just how I connect. I need emotional connection before physical connection.'

Julia claims the night was far more positive than viewers were led to believe.

'We actually had a really good time,' she said.
'I remember saying to him afterwards, 'I feel really close to you,' and he said, 'I feel really close to you too.'

‘So then to see him later say, ‘What the hell was that? We’re on different planets,’ I was shocked.’

The relationship ultimately unravelled after Grayson admitted he didn't feel a 'burning desire' growing between them.

Julia said that moment made her realise it was time to walk away.

'He said he wasn't sure a burning desire was growing here,' she recalled.

'And I thought, if I continue on this journey it's not going to end well.'

'I felt like no matter what I did, I couldn't win.'

'I was told I hadn't tried hard enough, but if I stayed I would've been accused of leading him on.'

Her decision to end the relationship via a letter shocked viewers - but Julia insists the conversation had already happened privately.

'I told him off camera the day before that I didn't feel like this was moving forward,' she said.

'So when I read the letter on camera and he acted shocked, that was confusing for me.'

'I'd already told him.'

And despite the heartbreak that unfolded on screen, she insists she has no regrets. 'I try not to live with regrets,' she said

Another storyline that dominated headlines during the season centred on Julia's sexuality, with rumours circulating that she had asked to be matched with a woman.

But the reality star strongly denies that claim.

'There is absolutely no record of me saying that anywhere because it didn't happen,' she said.
'I feel like my sexuality was weaponised.'
'Me being bisexual is the least interesting thing about me, but it's become the only thing people know.'

Julia admitted the backlash surrounding the storyline took a heavy toll on her mental health.

'I started spiralling,' she revealed.
'My family and friends had to ban me from reading comments online because some of the stuff was horrendous.'

Now, however, Julia says she has finally found happiness again.

The reality TV star confirmed to Daily Mail that she is in a new relationship with a woman she met shortly after filming wrapped.

'I met someone a couple of months after the experiment,' she said.
'My housemate was getting singing and guitar lessons with her, and I ended up going for a lesson myself.'
'I realised pretty quickly that there was a spark there.'

Julia joked that she quickly cancelled the lessons after realising her feelings.

'I stopped getting singing lessons from her because I didn't want her to be my teacher,' she laughed.
'We started hanging out and it developed slowly.'

Looking back on the experience, Julia describes her time on Married At First Sight as both challenging and transformative.

'It's been a big character-building exercise,' she said.
'I've never felt so misunderstood in my life, but I stayed true to myself.'

And despite the heartbreak that unfolded on screen, she insists she has no regrets.

'I try not to live with regrets,' she said.
'I think maybe there was a bigger purpose to why I went through this.'
'It's been bittersweet - but I'm happy now.'
