When she moved into her boyfriend's Miami home in April, Alix Earle knew that, in the months to come, she would be a 'nomad,' affording her little time at the $2.7 million pad.
In a video filmed in her new bedroom shortly after the move, she told fans of her exhausting schedule, which would see her jet-setting between Miami, New York, New Jersey and Los Angeles - where she would film Dancing with the Stars.
Despite the apparent chaos, however, she still managed to squeeze in time to see Braxton Berrios, 30, her boyfriend of two years. But, to add to the difficulty, the NFL wide receiver was relocated to Texas from Florida.
Still, the TikTok influencer, 24, shared videos from their reunions and honest accounts about how they were able to 'survive' living thousands of miles apart.
But what she perhaps didn't anticipate was just how big a chasm the distance would create between them, a divide that apparently became so untenable they eventually split.
On Saturday, Earle posted a video to her social media accounts tearfully confirming their breakup, confiding in her millions of followers that she and Braxton were simply on 'two different paths.'
'Part of me just also really wants to be focusing on myself right now, and I just feel like I can't be what Braxton needs,' Earle said in the clip. 'I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him.'
She added: 'I love Braxton, he's my best friend, so it has been very difficult as we're trying to just go forward with this.'
While Earle said she felt that the relationship just wasn't 'working out,' insiders tell the Daily Mail the split came as shock to Berrios.
'He was initially blindsided by the breakup and wasn't the one who put it all in motion,' one source told the Daily Mail.
'He misses her and the most perfect scenario would be to be back with her, but along with the distance, they would have to figure a few things out before entertaining any type of reconciliation.
'One thing on their side is that they don't hate each other and he would love to see them back together and he isn't afraid to put in the work.'
But a family insider told the Daily Mail there is no future for the couple - the pair are 'done, done.'
'There's no getting back together at this point. She barely even talks about him,' the source said. 'Alix had not been happy with the direction their relationship was going in. They spent a lot of time apart and weren't together over Thanksgiving.
'They were trying to make it work but their busy schedules were getting in the way. It definitely wasn't the same relationship it was two years ago... They're used to being in a long-distance relationship, but DWTS definitely put it to the test.'
Indeed, it was during her time on Dancing with the Stars that breakup rumors started to swirl. Devout fans questioned if they were on the rocks after Berrios failed to show week after week of the ballroom dance competition.
Earle shut down such speculation at the time, and reiterated Saturday that Berrios’ football schedule had made it impossible to support her in-person in Los Angeles.
But she apparently tried to be in 'constant contact' with her beau while training with her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, according to one source.
'They were always calling, always texting,' a show insider told the Daily Mail. 'They were very intentional to keep in touch. But she missed being together and would say as much. It was tough for her, but she knew that being on DWTS was a significant career move and she was ready to make that sacrifice. But yes, long distance was hard on her.'
Berrios and Earle first met at a party in Miami in February 2023 and kept in touch.
Later that year, Earle and Berrios, who she coyly referred to as 'NFL man,' made their red carpet debut. Soon followed a slew of social media posts documenting their blissful union: Earle supporting her man at his games, and Berrios cheering her on as she walked in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2024 runway show.
But recently, the pair were tight-lipped about the status of their relationship.
On Monday, Earle shared a video of herself inside Berrios' house, fueling fans’ hope that the couple could reconcile.
They were, however, quickly dashed when Earle confirmed their split on Saturday.
One insider revealed that the influencer had merely been in Miami 'for a few days' before heading to New York.
'She still has her stuff at his house but was there for work/events and to meet up with friends,' the source said. 'She's really just focused on work and upcoming appearances now.'
