The reason former Real Housewives Of Orange County star Meghan King temporarily lost custody of her children is apparently coming into focus.

The 41-year-old ex-wife of Jim Edmonds had allegedly given her seven-year-old son Hayes prescription medicine that had not been prescribed for him multiple times, a source told Page Six.

The source claimed that King had given Hayes multiple doses of Ritalin, a drug used to treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), even though he has never been diagnosed with the condition.

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for King but has not yet received a response. A representative for Edmonds declined to comment.

Us Weekly first reported from multiple sources that King had temporarily lost custody of her three children -- daughter Aspen, eight, and her seven-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes -- as the result of a call to Child Protective Services (CPS) from an employee at the children's elementary school.

The latest report alleges that CPS was contacted after King asked a school nurse to give Hayes doses of the ADHD medication.

The insider said CPS was called after King asked Hayes' school nurse to give him the ADHD meds. Her ex Jim Edmonds, 55, had to fly back to Missouri to be with the kids, as he and his wife Kortnie were reportedly staying at their Tennessee home when CPS called;

Page Six's source claims that King's ex-husband Edmonds, 55, and his wife Kortnie had been staying at their home in Tennessee when he was contacted by CPS, so the two got on a plane for Missouri to rejoin his children.

While Edmonds now has sole physical custody of the children, the insider says that King is allowed to have supervised visits with the three children two times per week.

They added that a temporary restraining order had been granted, but the order and the children's custody arrangement would be considered at an upcoming hearing on December 9.

Former RHOC star Kelly Dodd, whose tenure on the series overlapped with King's, appeared to confirm that her former costar had temporarily lost custody of her children in a TikTok video posted Thursday.

In the clip, Dodd said she had spoken on the phone with King after the news broke.

She claimed King said she had been deemed a 'dangerous mother' for allegedly given Hayes Ritalin, but Dodd defended her friend, calling her a 'good mother.'

'So I just got off the phone with Meghan King Edmonds,' Dodd told her fans. 'And she said that she gave one of her other twins Hayes some Ritalin, I guess, and it made her a "dangerous mother."'
'This I do know, and we've had a lot of differences and a lot of fights, and a lot of things, she stayed at my house, I took care of her when she got her boobs and her nose done, and I can tell you: she loves those babies, she loves those kids, and I know for a fact she's a good mother,' Dodd declared. 'She is an excellent mother.'

Dodd, who was seen pacing around her kitchen in the clip, added that she was 'pray[ing]' for to get 'her babies back.'

'Everyone just pray for Meghan and her family. Those boys and that daughter need their mom, they need their mother,' she continued. 'It's terrible, it's terrible what is going on right now. All we can do is pray for Meghan,' she said.

Dodd concluded by captioning her video: '#meghanking pray for her .. She lost custody of her kids ! #prayers #losingcustodyoftheirkids.'

King and Edmonds' custody battle comes after police were called on King earlier this year after she allegedly refused to leave her ex-husband's home.

The former couple wed in 2014, but King filed for divorce in 2019, and their divorce was finalized two years later.

One source reportedly told the publication that the CPS was called not by Edmonds or his current wife Kortnie Edmonds -- whom he married in 2022 -- but by an employee at the children's elementary school.

The call subsequently launched an investigation, which resulted in King temporarily losing custody of the kids.

A school employee reportedly called CPS, launching an investigation. Edmonds (pictured with King in 2018) now has sole physical custody on a temporary basis, while King has supervised visitation rights

The loss of custody follows an altercation at the home Edmonds and his fourth wife share on May 1 of this year.

King was accused of going into the Missouri home 'several times' and 'causing a disturbance' on May 1 in a police report listing Edmonds' current wife Kortnie as the 'victim' who had called the cops.

RHOC star King has disputed the claims and told police she visited the home to drop off clothes for the former couple's daughter.

Per the report, obtained by the Daily Mail, Kortnie claims King arrived at the home around 5 p.m. and ‘rang the doorbell multiple times.’

Kortnie claimed she walked to the door to get Aspen’s dress that King was supposed to ‘leave at the doorstep.’

The report stated: ‘Meghan refused to hand Kortnie the dress and ‘pulled away and asked to speak to’ [her daughter].

‘Kortnie told Meghan that [her daughter] wasn’t home and she was at a baseball game with Jim.’

Kortnie claimed King became ‘upset’ - before she asked King to leave the dress and closed the front door of the home.

She claimed as she walked back to her office, she ‘heard Meghan inside the home yelling for [her daughter]. Kortnie walked back to the front door and observed Meghan standing inside the house approximately 5 feet from the doorway.’

Kortnie allegedly then told King to get out and it was claimed: ‘Meghan slowly walked back outside the residence, but wedged her foot in the door briefly so Kortnie couldn’t shut the door completely. After Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie closed the door.’

Per the report, Kortnie initially declined to press charges but later ‘called the police department to state she did want to press charges for harassment.’

Ex professional baseball player Edmonds later arrived at the home and ‘told officers he had surveillance footage of the encounter.’

The publication reports on June 6, the parties ‘agreed to a consent order where King would not come near Kortnie, they would stay 150 feet away from each other at activities for the children and King would not mention Kortnie on social media.’

A source told Us Weekly King agreed to the order to ‘avoid prolonged litigation.’

On August 12 charges were ‘refused’ in the case and it was later reclassified as ‘inactive’.
