BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The race for Senator Mitch McConnell's seat is heating up, and two of the candidates have already made stops in Bowling Green. Now, the third candidate held a town hall Thursday evening.
"I'm so thrilled to be here in Bowling Green. The growth, the economy that's here, what this represents for the future of Kentucky... and I think our message tonight was about economic growth. How do we do that as a senator, and how do we represent people in Washington to create jobs? I think it was a great message, and I think people are very excited about it," Nate Morris says.
Morris has been endorsed by Charlie Kirk and Vivek Ramaswamy, and he comes from a business background, similar to President Donald Trump.
"I built one of the largest waste management companies in the United States from scratch, starting with a $10,000 line of credit... and I'm running as an outsider. I'm running a business person like President Trump... and to shake up the McConnell machine and to have a change, we've got to have a clean break from what we've had over the last 40 years of career politicians running our country off a cliff. That's why I'm in this race, and I think the people around us from the MAGA movement that have supported us, they know where we stand; they know what we're about; they know what kind of senator we're going to be when we get elected," Morris says.
He's a huge advocate for President Trump's immigration policy, saying if he's elected, he'll carry out that agenda.
"I've called for a full moratorium on any new immigration coming into our country until we deport every single one of the 20 million illegals that have invaded our country under Joe Biden. We're absolutely full as a country, and we've got to get really, really tough on the border and make sure that all these illegals go back," Morris says.
He's running against Representative Andy Barr and former Attorney General Daniel Cameron in the race, and he has one message to voters who may be undecided between the three of them.
"Amnesty Andy Barr... he supports amnesty and I'm for the complete opposite. We've got to close our border. We've got to send all these illegals back, and we've got to make sure that we preserve Western civilization. Western civilization is on the line in this election, and Kentuckians deserve a fighter, and they deserve someone who's going to stand with President Trump and continue to fight for the MAGA agenda," Morris says.
