There are only a handful of dates and locations left for WWE star John Cena, after which fans can't see him as a wrestler. They'll include the annual Survivor Series event, a final appearance at New York City's Madison Square Garden, and Cena's last official match, which occurs at "Saturday Night's Main Event."

The final match occurs on Saturday, Dec. 13, in Washington, D.C., with WWE yet to name the final opponent on the John Cena retirement tour.

Fans have demanded that WWE consider several popular former foes as Cena's last opponent, including retired WWE star Kurt Angle and former WWE star Edge, who now works under his real name, Adam Copeland, with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

However, speculation arrived in the past several weeks that it could be the "Ring General" Gunther, with Cena helping to elevate the rising talent's career further.

On Wednesday, WWE officially launched a pre-sale for tickets to see whatever Cena's final match is, sparking a frenzy as fans flocked to secure their seats for the live event.

According to WrestleOps on X, there were "almost 60,000 people" in the online queue attempting to buy tickets during the pre-sale. As of this writing, some ticket resales are also taking place.

However, tickets to see John Cena's last match officially go on sale for the general public on Friday, Oct. 17, via Ticketmaster.

As mentioned, several other appearances are coming up before Cena's retirement tour ends. On Monday, Nov. 10, Cena returns to his home region for an appearance on "Raw" in Boston. He'll follow that by appearing at NYC's MSG on Monday, Nov. 10, for a final appearance in the world-famous venue.

According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, it's believed Cena will battle WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio at WWE Survivor Series: War Games on Saturday, Nov. 29, in San Diego. Should that match be for Dom's championship and should Cena win, he'll have won the one title that's eluded him for his entire career.

However, he could also be interested in helping the newer generation of talents before he officially ends his career as an in-ring performer. Dom is among the rising stars when it comes to WWE heels, and Gunther could be the same.

Based on the reported interest in Cena's final match on Dec. 13, it should be a special night for the retiring superstar. Fans unable to attend the show in person can watch live or on demand, as Peacock provides the exclusive stream of "Saturday Night's Main Event."
