Sam Thompson's bakes were branded 'horrible' by judge Cherish Finden on The Great Celebrity Bake Off as the reality star suffered a chaotic stint in the tent.

The former Made In Chelsea competed in Sunday's Stand Up To Cancer special alongside Ambika Mod, Rose Ayling Ellis, Vicky Pattison and Alex Brooker.

It was Coronation Street actress and Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis who was crowned Star Baker with her adorable mouse choux buns.

However Sam's time in the tent wasn't without its drama, with the star baking 'horrible' mini rolls, squeezing lemon in his eye and leaving egg shells in his batter for the technical challenge.

For the signature challenge, Sam was left gutted after his rainbow sprinkle mini rolls were branded 'horrible' by host Cherish Finden.

Paul Hollywood was also left very unimpressed by the bakes and hilariously signposted him to try out Junior Bake Off instead.

Discussing the mini rolls later, Paul added: 'Look at Sam's! They looked terrible and tasted terrible.'

The reality star shared his disappointment as he had been hoping for a coveted handshake.

The day of baking got worse for Sam during the technical challenge - where the celebrities were tasked with making syrup sponges.

As he prepped his sponge and syrup, Sam had a lemon disaster as he accidentally squeezed the juice in his eye.

And as his syrup sponges made it to the judging table, Sam had left multiple egg shells in the batter and the sponge itself was quite raw, landing himself a fourth place finish.

During day two of the challenge, Sam was heard gasping as he accidentally cracked his choux pastry spirals open.

Before this, Sam had opened the oven too early and his choux pastry had deflated - straight after judge Cherish told him to keep the door closed.

Presenting his 'T-Rex in choux', Sam said it was filled with 'love' and was inspired by a video he did for his sister Louise.

In a shocking turn of events, Paul said he 'loved it' and Cherish even went as far as to say 'Mamma Mia' - sparking a delighted shout from Sam.

Viewers found Sam's failures hilarious as they wrote: '" we do a thing called Junior Bakeoff " Hahahahaha poor Sam,'; 'Sam makes mini rolls - We do Junior bake off & its horrible.'

A supportive fan of Sam's added: 'Sam Thompson is one of my favourite humans in this world.'

Elsewhere Vicky was left swooning on Celebrity Bake Off after 'getting lost in judge Paul's eyes'.

The reality star, 38, best known for her appearances on Geordie Shore, gushed 'I still fancy him' and described her reaction to the presenter, 60, as 'genuinely embarrassing'.

Paul has been a judged on the much-loved Channel 4 show since it first started 2010 - and many have swooned over him over the past 16 years.

Speaking ahead of her stint on The Great Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C, Vicky said: 'I still fancy Paul Hollywood...'

'He is a silver fox and a wicked bit of kit - trying my best to impress him definitely added to my nerves.'

'His eyes are something else... you can lost in those baby blues!'

And she was very keen to get the legendary Hollywood handshake off him.

Vicky added: 'I'm too desperate for a Hollywood handshake... it's genuinely embarrassing. I don't think I'll get one because I'm almost too keen, you know?'

But despite the cringe, she might have been experiencing about her crush, it's all been for a good cause and the star is appearing on the show to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.

The charity is particularly close to Vicky's heart, as her dad and a friend have battled the disease in recent years.
